Living on opposite sides of the country can be very challenging. At times I feel like Im on the outside looking in. I was inspired to write this after coming across a painting. Eventually, the meaning of the song evolved. As I searched for the second verse it became more about the idea of a girl who is worshipped from afar but who has no real friends—she pushes everyone away. She is the moon—adored by all the world, but keeps herself distant.
